Creating Your First Form

Creating a form in QuipForm is as simple as writing a document.

Unlike traditional form builders that rely on complex drag-and-drop interfaces, QuipForm uses a clean doc-style editor where you can type, add blocks, and build forms naturally.

In this guide, you'll create and publish your first form.

Most users can create and publish their first form in less than 5 minutes.

Step 1: Create a New Form

From your dashboard:

  1. Click New Form.
  2. Choose how you'd like to start.

You can either:

  • Start with a blank form
  • Use a pre-built template

Templates are a great way to launch faster and are fully customizable.

Common templates include:

  • Contact Forms
  • Lead Generation Forms
  • Customer Feedback Forms
  • Job Applications
  • Event Registrations
  • Newsletter Signups
  • Client Intake Forms

Every template can be customized to match your exact requirements.

Step 2: Add a Title

Start by giving your form a clear title.

Example:

Customer Feedback Survey

A strong title helps respondents immediately understand the purpose of the form.

You can also add a short description below the title to provide additional context.

Step 3: Add Questions

To insert a field:

  1. Click anywhere in the editor.
  2. Type /.
  3. Select a field type.

Popular field types include:

  • Short Text
  • Email
  • Phone Number
  • Multiple Choice
  • Dropdown
  • Checkboxes
  • Rating
  • File Upload
  • Date
  • Payment

Add as many questions as needed.

Step 4: Organize Your Form

You can structure forms using content blocks such as:

  • Headings
  • Text Blocks
  • Dividers
  • Images
  • Videos

For longer forms, use New Page blocks to create multi-step experiences.

This helps improve readability and completion rates.

Step 5: Customize the Design

Open the Customize panel to personalize your form.

You can configure:

  • Themes
  • Colors
  • Typography
  • Cover Images
  • Logos
  • Custom CSS

These options help align your form with your brand.

Step 6: Configure Form Settings

Before publishing, review important settings.

Depending on your needs, you may enable:

  • Email Notifications
  • Save & Resume
  • Password Protection
  • Submission Limits
  • Close Dates
  • Redirects
  • Thank You Pages

Step 7: Preview Your Form

Before sharing your form:

  1. Open Preview mode.
  2. Complete a test submission.
  3. Verify all questions work correctly.
  4. Test conditional logic.
  5. Review the mobile experience.

Always complete at least one test submission before publishing a form publicly.

Step 8: Publish Your Form

When you're ready:

  1. Click Publish.
  2. Confirm the changes.

Your form is now live and ready to collect responses.

QuipForm automatically generates a shareable form URL.

Step 9: Share Your Form

You can distribute your form using:

  • Direct links
  • Email campaigns
  • Social media
  • QR codes
  • Website embeds
  • Custom domains

Choose the method that best fits your audience.

Step 10: Monitor Responses

As submissions arrive, you can:

  • View responses
  • Track analytics
  • Monitor completion rates
  • Review traffic sources
  • Analyze question drop-off

Everything is available from your QuipForm dashboard.

Example Workflow

A typical first form might look like:
